Lake Tahoe Music Festival #ltmf2017 to watch Emily Botel and her #amaranthquartet perform Ysaye's Harmonies Du Soir for String Quartet and Orchestra - ethereal.
with Steve, Collin Kriner, Ann Botel-Barnard, Scott Botel-Barnard, Linda and Peter Morris and @theodorableschnauzer Eclipse (80%) "watching" lakeside with excited folks - young and old - willing to share their glasses. Ellis Peak (8683') vistas, wildflowers and full view of Lake Tahoe at the top Eagle Falls Trail aromatic trek (incense cedar, sugar pines, jefferey piine) up to pristine Eagle Lake and on and up to the top before quickly growing thunderheads encouraged us to descend Carson Pass Thickly falling hail kept us from the wildflower trek, but pounded the aromatic plants so much that our car filled with their clean, refreshing scent and covered the mountainsides as if with snow. South Lake Tahoe Lakeside/Sunset view room Secret Harbor Afternoon reading on rocky point on western shore of Lake Tahoe Tahoe Cruz Sunset sailing with Linda and Peter Morris Mount Rose Circumambulating the peak with Linda Flume Trail Hitched up my courage to tackle this 12.9 mile, gorgeous, adrenaline pumping trail under Linda Morris' expert guidance with Steve. Shuttle to 7000′ and then climb to 8157′ over 3.4 miles, 1.5 miles along gorgeous Marlette Lake, 4.5 miles of single track (mostly around the cliff faces of Bear Paws, riding by thrilling drop offs towards the lake, we walked the most technical and sandy parts), then a 3 mile, 1500′ descent along Tunnel Creek Road (glad to have good brakes and fat tires!). Here is someone else's video highlights. Yes, there was cold beer at the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZklWpZS3mU
